From Romeo and Juliet: The Musical to The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and even a Beatles tribute, the week in-between the two big days is full of family-friendly shows.
On Christmas day, the circus rolls into town (with a haunted house twist) and don’t forget, there’s the ongoing Feria, Juveándalus, at Fermasa, plus Made in Granada market in Plaza de Romanilla this weekend.
We’ll be taking a week off next week (it is New Year’s Eve), so we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and we’ll see you in 2026. If you were planning to get us a gift but forgot, sharing this newsletter with a friend will do nicely. 😉

🎵 Musical Highlights:
On Boxing Day, Saint Stephen goes Caribbean, with high-spirited local fusion band Los Sanga warming you up with tracks from their aptly titled album Bueno Pa Bailar. BeFunkBop represent the new wave of cool brass bands. A special mention goes to the tuba player, who very-convincingly pulls off funky baselines on one of nature’s more sluggish instruments. Lamaar & Leo Esquivel play light, tight, playful music at their afternoon gig. Well worth checking out - it’s free! Tchaikovsky fans will be pleased to see both The Nutcracker and Swan Lake performed this week.

🚌 Local News/Transport:
🚗 For drivers, it’s your last chance this week to purchase a V-16 beacon (baliza V-16) (to be kept in your glove compartment) which will replace emergency triangles as the only legal way to signal a broken-down or crashed vehicle from 1 Jan 2026. More info.
🎁 From 26 Dec 2025 to 4 Jan 2026 (11h-21h), the Magic Bus will be located on Avenida de las Alpujarras in La Chana to collect toy donations. (It’s usually on Paseo del Salón.) The toys will later be donated to charities designated by Granada City Council, with the aim of ensuring that all children in Granada receive a Christmas gift. More info.
