From the modern to the traditional, the city is brimming with activity… While Granada’s streets transform into a giant race track 🏎️, a little mountain town not so far away is continuing its 500-year bull-running tradition. 🐂

Meanwhile, a new music festival brings a modern twist to traditional sounds, and Hispanic Day takes over Sunday with performances in some of Granada’s most iconic spots. Throw in a splash of heavy metal, a dash of flamenco (claro), and a pinch of blues and jazz - and you’ve got just another perfectly average week in Granada. ❤️

Granada’s Centro de Federico García Lorca will host the first “Contemporary Popular Music” Gathering, showcasing artists that reinterpret Iberian folk traditions through a modern lens.

🚄 The government has awarded a €283 million contract to complete the final stretch of the Loja Bypass, closing the last gap in the high-speed AVE rail line to Granada. Construction on this 7.7-km section will begin by the end of 2025 and is expected to finish by 2028–2029. More info

☀️ UNESCO advisors have warned that a planned solar plant near the Alhambra poses a “high risk” to Granada’s world-heritage landscape, potentially harming views and historic olive groves. The project has sparked calls for stricter environmental oversight. More info
