Description
Translated from the organiser's original listing
Deadpan Karaoke is a participatory solo show by Marián Bañobre, directed by Patricia Rodríguez. The title plays on the contrast between 'deadpan' (an impassive expression) and 'karaoke' (empty orchestra), setting the tone for a performance that fuses absurdist humour, comedy, music and cinema. Inspired by Liv Stromquist's graphic novels - particularly 'No siento nada' - the show translates complex sociology and contemporary philosophy into accessible, entertaining theatre. Bañobre plays a robotised master of ceremonies, incapable of feeling emotions, who enlists the audience's help to understand what it means to feel. Recommended for ages 16+.
