About This Event
Spanish ‘film noir’ screening as part of the V Premios Carmen cycle, followed by a book presentation about screenwriter Rafael Cobos.
Description
Golpes (2024) screening at Filmoteca de Andalucía as part of the V Premios Carmen cycle. The film tells the story of Migueli, a criminal who gets out of prison in the changing Spain of the early 1980s. He wants to look to the future, but first he must heal wounds from the past. To do this, he needs a lot of money and he needs it fast. As soon as he arrives in Seville, he gathers his old gang together and they carry out several consecutive heists - bank branches, jewellery stores, and even the area's first casino. It won't be easy: the police have assigned the case to his own brother, Sabino, who knows very well how they think. But Migueli will not stop. He is willing to go all the way. Following the screening, there will be a presentation of the book 'Rafael Cobos: escritura y pantalla' (Rafael Cobos: writing and screen) with speakers Rafael Cobos, Fernando Navarro and Juan María Rodríguez. In collaboration with Academia de Cine de Andalucía.
