Description
2nd Collective Exhibition Against Vicarious Violence: "The Heartbeat of the Butterflies Depends on Our Attitude" (2026) Open to the public until 5 February, Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 9pm. For guided tours in the morning, contact 647-507584. The project "The Heartbeat of the Butterflies Depends on Our Attitude" (2026) continues the butterfly weaving work from Phase I, but aims to advance to Phases II and III. It is a project arising from the Provincial Council for Equality between Women and Men of the Granada Provincial Government, in collaboration with the Granada City Council's Equality Department. The aim is to develop each of the values contained in the book "The Heartbeat of the Butterflies Depends on Our Attitude" published by Itziar Prats in tribute to her daughters Nerea and Martina, who were murdered by their father. This is achieved through the reproduction (woven or through other artistic expressions) of the elements of each Value and the creation of an "Activity Proposal" for development and implementation by women's associations and other groups committed to the fight against Gender Violence and Vicarious Violence, as well as the educational centres that received the book in 2024 during Phase I. As part of Phase III, as one of the flagship projects, and drawing on all the experience gathered from activities carried out in the three previous phases, the Exhibition Hall of the Casa de Mariana de Pineda opens its doors from 19 January 2026 for the 2nd Heartbeat of the Butterflies Exhibition 2026, which can be visited until 5 February 2026. This exhibition features collaboration from several women's associations that participated in the 2024 exhibition, who have created materials related to each of the VALUES in the book. As in the previous edition, other women's associations from the province will participate with materials whether woven, painted, etc., always related to the content of the book. The 6 VALUES are: 1. Collaboration 2. Attitude 3. Empathy 4. Tolerance 5. Equality 6. Respect Participating women's associations: A.M. REMPUJA (Pampaneira), A.M. Mercedes Salinas (Jun), A.M.
