Description
Translated from the organiser's original listing
Poeticas carolinas (Carolingian Poetics) is a group exhibition at the Hospital Real exploring connections between 16th-century humanist values and contemporary artistic practice. Drawing on works from the Universidad de Granada's contemporary art, historical-artistic and scientific collections, the show examines how Renaissance principles of measure, allegory and contemplation are transformed into current visual languages: geometries that order digital chaos, symbols that rewrite myths, materials that bridge the artisanal and the industrial. The exhibition is organised into four sections: 1. Order, measure and the representation of knowledge 2. The classical and the hybrid 3. Borders, coexistence and identity 4. Body, nature and contemplation Curated by Francisco Jose Sanchez Montaban and Maria Luisa Bellido Gant. Organised by the Universidad de Granada's Heritage Department. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 11am-2pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm. Free entry.
