Description
Curators: Diego Villalobos and Rodrigo Ortiz Monasterio 6 November - 19 April 2026 | Exhibition Hall Admission: Free until capacity is reached The Centro Federico Garcia Lorca in Granada presents the collective exhibition "Journey to the Moon", inspired by the only film script written by the Spanish poet, playwright and artist Federico Garcia Lorca. The exhibition brings together national and international artists, revisiting both the themes present in the script and the social and political context in which it was conceived in the late 1920s. At the same time, it draws a parallel with our present - the 2020s - in which far-right nationalist movements and fascist ideologies are resurfacing, once again making the world a more closed and uncertain place. A project by the Federico Garcia Lorca Foundation for the Centro Federico Garcia Lorca Consortium, with the support of CaixaBank. This exhibition was initially organised at CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco. The exhibition was made possible by Lisa Bransten, with additional support from The Jenny Crain Foundation. Artists: Lola Alvarez Bravo (1903-1993, Mexico), Emilio Amero (1901-1976, Mexico), Nina Canell (b. 1979, Sweden), Ajit Chauhan (b. 1981, USA), June Crespo (b. 1982, Spain), Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936, Spain), Rodrigo Hernandez (b. 1983, Mexico), Marie Lund (b. 1976, Denmark), Rosalind Nashashibi (b. 1973, UK), Francesco Pedraglio (b. 1981, Italy), Tania Perez Cordova (b. 1979, Mexico), Jorge Satorre (b. 1979, Mexico), Gabriel Sierra (b. 1975, Colombia), Alvaro Urbano (b. 1983, Spain), and works from the Federico Garcia Lorca Foundation archive.
